Being in the insurance industry for the past 16 years with two
major motorcycle insurance carriers and now with a nationwide
insurance agency - I have some insight into the development,
purpose, selling, claims and fraud aspects of motorcycle insurance.
I'm proud to be a member of Ride-Again.com with intentions to
provide a general view of the insurance industry based upon my
experience to help you understand the complicated word -
'insurance'. I've specialized in motorcycles and recreational
vehicles or the 'toys' that we all come to need for some real rest
and relaxation to escape the stress of the world that surrounds us.
Many of us have had some unfortunate situations that we never
expect to have or want to be involved in; however, it's an act that
unfortunately changes our lives and view on the future. My postings
to Ride-Again.com are intended to be informational for you to use
as you see fit in your lives. I hope that I can shed some
educational information that will be useful for the members of
Ride-Again.com. A little about me - besides what I wrote in the
first paragraph: I've been riding motorcycles for over 30 years.
I've been eating and breathing motorcycles for the past 16 years
once I retired from 20 years of law enforcement and entered into my
new career. I've been a Special Investigator (Fraud Unit), product
development manager, sales executive, and Vice President for two
leading motorcycle insurance carriers. I've been actively involved
in a national task force recovering and identifying stolen
motorcycles at major motorcycle rallies and for any law enforcement
agency that seeks my expertise for the past 15 years. My team has
recovered over 1,000 stolen motorcycles at major motorcycle
rallies. Please accept that what I do and have done is actually a
service to motorcycle enthusiasts and the motorcycle industry in an
effort to make your world what you want it to be. I'm happily
married to my soul mate that supports all the long hours and hard
work that I put into this career. We have five daughters and four
grandchildren. I do have experience trying to understand and
respond to many different views, cultures, demands, etc....... heck
- raising five grown daughters was like boot camp for 30 years. My
next posting will be directed towards the basics of insurance
titled 'Insurance 101'. It's not all about price when shopping for
insurance. The nation has many insurance carriers that want your
business, but do they have the policy or contract that suits your
needs and deserves your business. You do NOT want to find out when
you need the insurance that you don't have the proper coverage(s).
The riding season is approaching and you want to make sure that you
are properly covered - just in case you experience an unexpected
event! Bob "The Insurance Guy"
