I tell you the truth guys. It ain't so much the trip as the people you are with. Riding with a gun group can make all the difference. A good piece of advice is NOT to ride with a couple you haven't met. I went on a long trip with two people who fought for 1000 miles and drove me crazy. Its all about the people.

Sucks! It reminds me of a road trip I took after high school where we all got in fights with each other and nobody was talking to anybody by the end. It is very uncomfortable!

Yep last year took a weekend road trip and the group was almost too big. It should have been broken down to three different groups. Everyone was on sportbikes or sport touring bikes. With different riding skills amoung the riders. Before we had gone 5 miles we had one rider go off the road. He was able to continue , but had to make repairs to his bike first. Then after lunch we had another rider go off the road. His bike suffered some damage , but he was unhurt ( lucky for him) but the bike was ridable and he was able to continue on with the group and finish the weekend. It is nice to ride with other riders, but sometimes a group can be too big.

Personally, I prefer myself.

It is nice to ride alone sometimes, but if you are with some friends (3 or 4) and you ride a nice "pace" it can be fun too. That and take a nice camera. I have been thinking of doing the ultimate alone trip for some charity. I want to ride 1000 miles in 24 hours. Just have not found a charity I would like to do it for yet. But the destination is Washington D.C. Will have to give it some thought before riding season gets here. .

Love that idea. How about something for injured servicemen and then end at Walter Reed Hospital!

Somedays my bike is the best therapist I can find and riding alone is perfect. But most times a few good friends is perfect.
